The difference between power cable and control cable

Power cable, also known as "power cable", refers to a cable that transmits electrical energy. It is used to transmit and distribute large functional power in the main line of the power system. The rated voltage of the power cable is Uo/U (Uo refers to the metal conductor and metal sleeve or metal). The control cable refers to a cable that transmits various control signals, and directly transfers power from the power distribution point of the power system to the power connection lines of various electrical equipment appliances. The control cable is mainly 450/750V, the current is relatively small (ie, the conductor cross section is small), the voltage range is narrow (450/750~10KV), the number of cable cores is more, from 2 cores to 61 cores, and even more.


When the power cable and control cable of the same specification are produced, the insulation and sheath thickness of the power cable are thicker than the control cable.

(2) The standard for control cables is GB9330, and the standard for power cables is GB12706.

(3) The color of the insulated core of the control cable is generally black and white, and the low voltage of the power cable is generally separated.

(4) The cross section of the control cable generally does not exceed 10 square meters. The power cable is mainly for transmitting electricity, and generally has a large cross section.

Long-term working temperature is high (90 degrees) and so on.

GB/T12706.1~12706.4-2002 "Rated voltage 1KV (Um = 1.2kV) 35k (Um = 40.5kV) extruded insulated power cable and accessories", can also be produced according to user needs, using the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC60502-1997 standard .

Use characteristics

1. The ambient temperature during cable laying is not lower than 0 °C, otherwise it must be preheated. The cable drop is not limited.

2. The minimum bending radius for cable laying is as follows:

Single core cable: 20 (d + D) ± 5%;

Three-core cable: 15 (d + D) ± 5%.

Use characteristics

2. The long-term maximum operating temperature of the cable conductor is 70 °C.

3. When the cable is laid, the ambient temperature should not be lower than 0 °C. If the ambient temperature is lower than 0 °C, the cable should be preheated.

4. The recommended bending radius of the cable is as follows: No armored cable, no less than 6 times the outer diameter of the cable;
