Wind power production growth accelerated

The production of raw coal accelerated, coal imports fell, and prices rose slightly. In September, the output of raw coal was 310 million tons, up 5.2% year-on-year and 1 percentage point faster than that in August. The average daily output was 10.2 million tons, an increase of 630,000 tons. Among them, in the main coal producing areas, Inner Mongolia grew by 11.3% year-on-year, 1.3 percentage points faster than in August; Shanxi increased by 5%, and in August it fell by 0.9%; Shaanxi increased by 9.9%, slowed by 4.1%; Xinjiang increased by 5.2%. Slowed by 1.9 percentage points; Guizhou fell by 8.4%, a decrease of 4.8 percentage points. In terms of coal imports, in September, imported coal was 25.14 million tons, a decrease of 3.54 million tons from August and a year-on-year decrease of 7.2%. In the first nine months of this year, raw coal production was 2.59 billion tons, up 5.1% year-on-year, and imported coal was 230 million tons, up 11.8% year-on-year. At the beginning of October, the comprehensive trading price of Qinhuangdao Port 5500 kcal coal was 581 yuan per ton, up 6 yuan from the beginning of September; 5,000 kcal coal was 523 yuan per ton, up 10 yuan; 4,500 kcal coal was 465 yuan per ton, rising 8 yuan.


Affected by the typhoon “Mangosteen”, some oil fields in Guangdong reduced production, which led to a decline in China’s crude oil production and a decline in imports. In September, crude oil production was 15.18 million tons, down 2.4% year-on-year; the average daily output was 506,000 tons, a decrease of 10,000 tons from the previous month. The growth rate of crude oil imports fell. In September, the import volume of crude oil was 37.21 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%. The growth rate dropped by 13 percentage points from August, and the import volume decreased by 1.17 million tons. International crude oil prices continue to rise. As of the end of September, the spot price of Brent crude oil was 82.72 US dollars / barrel, up 5.78 US dollars / barrel from the end of August. In the first nine months of this year, crude oil production was 141.13 million tons, down 1.9% year-on-year; imported crude oil was 336.41 million tons, up 5.9% year-on-year.


Crude oil processing volume has grown steadily. In September, crude oil processing volume was 51.34 million tons, up 4.9% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 0.7 percentage points lower than that in August. The average daily processing was 1.711 million tons, an increase of 88,000 tons. In the first nine months of this year, the crude oil processing volume was 452.54 million tons, an increase of 8.1% year-on-year.


Natural gas production increased by 8.5% year-on-year and maintained rapid growth. Imports decreased by 150,000 tons from the previous month and fell slightly. In September, natural gas production was 12.2 billion cubic meters, a growth rate of 1.2 percentage points lower than that in August; daily production was 410 million cubic meters, a decrease of 0.1 billion cubic meters. Imported natural gas was 7.62 million tons, up 28.3% year-on-year, and the growth rate dropped by 9.7 percentage points from August. In the first nine months of this year, natural gas production was 116.2 billion cubic meters, up 6.2% year-on-year; imported natural gas was 64.78 million tons, up 34% year-on-year.


The growth rate of power production has slowed down, and wind power production has grown rapidly. In September this year, the average monthly temperature was 1.2 degrees Celsius lower than the same period of last year, and the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday was superimposed. The demand for electricity consumption in the whole society was reduced. In September, the power generation was 548.3 billion kWh, and the growth rate dropped by 2.7 percentage points from August. The average daily power generation was 18.28 billion. At kWh, the chain was reduced by 2.38 billion kWh. Overall, in the first nine months of this year, power generation increased by 7.4% year-on-year, and the growth rate dropped by 0.3 percentage points from January to August. Among them, in addition to wind power, the growth rate of other types of power production has slowed down compared with August. Thermal power increased by 3.7% year-on-year, down 2.3 percentage points from August; hydropower grew by 4.1%, down 7.4 percentage points; nuclear power increased by 12.8%, down 4.1 percentage points; solar power generation increased by 2.9%, down 9.3 percentage points.
